Akai Yuen is the personal driver of Chinese politician Li Chen, as well as the murderer of Helen Quan. Helen was suing Chen, the mayor of her hometown, for imprisoning her mother, who was practicing Falun Gang. As Yuen didn’t want to leave America, which would’ve happened from the lawsuit, Yuen strangled Helen, then set her on fire after she died to disguise her death as a suicide.
Yuen tried to lie, pretending to protect Chen, but when his own alibi fell through, he confessed to the murder. As a result, he took a plea to manslaughter and was imprisoned. (L&O: “The Wheel”)
