Alexander Chaplin (born Alexander Gaberman on March 20, 1971 in New York City, New York) is an American actor who played Legal Aid Attorney Tim Schwimmer in the Law & Order season 14 premiere "Bodies".
Chaplin's most well-known role is that of speechwriter James Hobart on the ABC comedy Spin City (with Michael Boatman, Barry Bostwick, Victoria Dillard, Jennifer Esposito, and Richard Kind). He also appeared in the pilot episode of Homicide: Life on the Street.
