Amy Ryan (born Amy Beth Dziewiontkowski on May 3, 1968 in Queens, New York City, New York) is an actress who played five different characters on all three primary shows of the Law & Order franchise.

She is known for her TV roles as Beadie Russell on The Wire (with Chris Bauer, Paul Ben-Victor, John Doman, Idris Elba, Frankie Faison, Lawrence Gilliard, Jr., Deirdre Lovejoy, Wendell Pierce, Lance Reddick, Andre Royo, and Sonja Sohn), Holly Flax on the American version of The Office (with John Krasinski, Rainn Wilson, and Brian Baumgartner), and Adele Brousse on In Treatment. She starred in the films Capote (with Philip Seymour Hoffman), Birdman, Gone Baby Gone (with Michelle Monaghan and Titus Welliver), for which she received an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress, and Goosebumps (with Dylan Minnette and Odeya Rush).

In 2018, Ryan co-starred in Beautiful Boy for Amazon Studios, a dark family drama, with her The Office co-star Steve Carell, and Timothée Chalamet. She was then among the ensemble cast of 2019's Late Night, the Mindy Kaling-penned comedy about a female late-night talk show host (Emma Thompson); and Strange but True, a noir-thriller based on the novel by John Searles. In 2020, Ryan starred as Mari Gilbert, a real life woman searching for her missing daughter, in Netflix's mystery thriller Lost Girls. In 2021, she starred on the Hulu TV series Only Murders in the Building (with Martin Short).

Ryan married Eric Slovin in 2011. They have one daughter, Georgia Gracie (born October 15, 2009).
