Background Information and Notes[]

  • This episode was the last to star Kelli Giddish as Amanda Rollins as a series regular until the twenty-seventh season, when she was reinstated as a series regular. However, during the interim, she still appeared in every season following her original exit.
  • This episode features the trial of Elias Olsen from the episode "The Steps We Cannot Take".
  • The song that plays during Carisi and Rollins's wedding reception is "As Long as It's Real" by Raphael Lake. The song is also played during the episodes "Intent" and "Down Low In Hell's Kitchen".
  • Mason Carter mentions how Grace Muncy arrested Lukas Peeters from the previous episode "A Better Person".
  • Benson and Rollins talk about Elliot Stabler, and Benson mentions how she is still not over how he left her in the episode "Scorched Earth". They also talk about how Kathy Stabler died in "Return Of The Prodigal Son".
  • This episode was originally titled "Partridge in a Trauma Pear Tree" until a fan suggested on Instagram the name "And a Trauma in a Pear Tree", suggesting that it would be a fun singalong name. David Graziano said he liked the suggested name much better than the original and agreed with the script coordinator to have it changed.[1]
  • Giddish revealed on the "That's Messed Up" podcast that she had input for Rollins's wedding dress and sent some ideas to costume designer Chris Ann Pappas. Pappas bought a few dresses for Giddish to try on, and Giddish decided that the first one she tried on matched her style perfectly with big sleeves; she thought that it was fitting to have something plain and matte for a wedding held in a courthouse.[2]
