Andrew Hampton is the accomplice of his sister Nicole in the murder of their mother Rebecca, leaving John Franchetta, a mobster and Rebecca's boyfriend, to be framed for the murder. When Franchetta was released after twenty years, Nicole ordered Andrew to shoot Gerald Fox, a fraudulent journalist having sealed Franchetta's fate with fake details of a witness, so Fox wouldn't sell the siblings out.
Fox survived, and Andrew was arrested and identified in a lineup by another witness. Nicole was also arrested for Rebecca's murder, but she could only be tried in family court since she was still a teenager at the time. When Franchetta provided love letters that proved Nicole killed Rebecca out of jealousy over Franchetta, Andrew, who was 18 during his mother's murder, took a plea to reduced prison time for accessory to murder and attempted murder for his testimony against Nicole.
Andrew was sentenced to prison in Clinton Correctional Facility. Nicole was acquitted for ordering Fox's shooting, with her fate in family court being unknow. (L&O: "Juvenile")
