Angela Lansbury was an actress who played Eleanor Duvall in the Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and Law & Order: Trial by Jury crossover episodes "Night" and "Day".
Lansbury was the aunt of actor David Lansbury.
Lansbury has been nominated for three Oscars for her portrayal in The Manchurian Candidate, The Picture of Dorian Gray and Gaslight. She also received countless Emmy Award nominations for her portrayal of Jessica Fletcher on the long-running drama series Murder, She Wrote. Lansbury also received an Emmy nomination for her portrayal of Eleanor Duvall in Trial by Jury. She is the winner of six Golden Globe Awards.
Coincidently, she had previously co-starred with the late, longtime Law & Order cast member Jerry Orbach (also a fellow Broadway legend) in the Disney animated movie Beauty and the Beast (with Orbach voicing Lumière and Lansbury voicing Mrs. Potts), as well as on Murder, She Wrote.
On October 11, 2022, Lansbury's children issued a statement saying that she had died "peacefully in her sleep" at 1:30 am PDT / 8:30 am GMT/UTC Time on 11 October 2022, five days short of her 97th birthday, at her home in Los Angeles, California.
