Anna Galvez is the fiancee of Fernando Salva, who killed Maureen Rankin to steal her car as a present for Anna, which she used to transport her mother to and from work.
As Anna knew of the killing once it reached the news, she was threatened with being charges as an accessory after the fact on capital charges in federal court along with Fernando. She agreed to testify against him, if the prosecution promised to reduce his charges so he was alive for their unborn child.
Fernando was found guilty of second-degree murder, his prison sentenced influenced by the recording of Maureen’s kidnapping and murder, which Anna was overcome by when hearing it with everyone else in the gallery. (L&O: “Causa Mortis”)
