Anton Petrov is a mobster from Bulgaria, a former officer of the SOBT anti-terrorism squad of the Bulgarian National Police Service, and one of the prime suspects in four murders in New York City.

In 2006, Petrov left Bulgaria after he was witnessed in shooting a journalist in the head.

In 2010, he and his accomplice, Dr. Stephen Elroy, were arrested for the murders of Lili Denkova, a fellow baby trafficker, and three of their captive mothers while attempting to sell the babies of their victims.

Although it was believed that Sofia Zarov, a witness to the murders, and two agents of the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement were killed in the explosion of their car while on their way to Fort Dix, it turns out that the Federal government had discovered the bomb in the car before it would explode, and therefore, nobody was murdered in the explosion. It was a charade to further protect Sofia.

Petrov was charged with four counts of first-degree murder (in the deaths of witnesses), attempted first-degree murder, and first-degree arson, and later pleaded guilty to the murders after hearing the Federal government intended to seek the death penalty against him, and was sentenced to life imprisonment without parole in maximum security, whilst the charges against Dr. Elroy were dismissed and he was placed in Witness Protection.
