Aston Skinner was David Kellen's number two in his company, Ellsworth & Company, a powerful investment company.
History[]
Aston was an acquatince of David Kellen, who made Aston the Executive CEO of Ellsworth & Company, an investment company. The company became very weathly and powerful, the power and wealth being with David and Aston as well. Aston was aware of the trades that David had made with other people including the Sultan Foods trade which, unknowning to Aston was an attempt by David to get rid of the debt that Shawn Colway owed to Jack Driscoll. At some point, Aston met Nikki Vansen, who at the time was David's girlfriend and the two became close; when David broke up with Nikki three months later Aston dated Nikki. Aston was in South Hampshire where he developed a personal relationship with Nikki and when David discovered this he called Aston after his date with Andrea Stiles and told Aston he was a dead man. This was the last call David would make as seconds later he would be killed by Jack.
Aston got out of his car when Detectives Goren and Eames (who were told about Aston by an employee named Nancy) talk to Aston about David to see if he had any possible motives. Aston tells the detectives about the South Hampshire meeting and David's call to him and said that he was appointed as the new CEO of Ellworth & Company before leaving which gave the detectives a possible motive for him wanting David dead.
The belief that Aston had David killed was reenforced when the detectives discovered that Aston was the boyfriend of Nikki, who was supposedly mad at David for breaking up with her and that David tried to get Aston fired. Aston denies this and tells the detectives how David thought he was the leak of the Sultan Foods trade which he wasn't. Aston tells the detectives the the people who would want to hurt David are the ones that fought back against David.
When the detectives talk to Stephanie Miller, a dating consultant they believed that Aston had killed David as they were competetive in every aspect until Stephanie tells the detectives that David was not intrested in Nikki as he broke up with for "some teacher in Inwood".
The detectives are led on to believe that David's killer was Nikki through a false witness named Michael Connelly but they realoize that Michael was a false witness and that the real killer was Jack. (CI: "The Last Street in Manhattan")
