Atlas DeWinn is a teenager who facilitated the kidnapping and rape of his stepsister Josephine.
Background[]
When he was a child, Atlas' parents divorced after his mother cheated with a coworker who went on to become his stepfather. Through this arrangement, Atlas and his mother joined a family of wealth and he gained a stepsister Josephine who he grew close with, and they regarded each other as best friends and he looked out for her. Unknown to all, Atlas became obsessed with Josephine and frequently did everything in his power to have her to himself, feeling that she was the only person he needed. He spent time with her every day, took pictures of her that he kept hidden in his room, and when taking her on vacation to see his father, he used the latter's phone to film her but kept the footage in a secret file. This act later got his father arrested but he never faced charges. Eventually, Atlas received news that Josephine would be going off to college and realized he would never have her. With this, he conducted a plan to finally have her in a way. He conspired with a gaming buddy to help; he had the latter come from Houston to meet before instructing him to kidnap him and Josephine while they were going to school and hold them at gunpoint to force Josephine to sleep with Atlas while filming everything. However, Josephine instead slept with the man to avoid both of them being killed and they were released.

A witnessing neighbor reported the incident and SVU were called in to investigate. They found the teens who claimed they had no idea why they were targeted and Atlas blamed himself for not protecting her. Suspicions fell on Atlas' father Derek of arranging once the alimony was brought up and a ransom was uploaded with the threat of the assault video being uploaded. The situation spiraled when candid photos of Josephine were found on Derek's phone and his previous arrest, causing a shocked Josephine to inform Atlas who plays his role as an overprotective brother and cover his tracks by confronting Derek at his hotel and attacking him with a bat. However, he was stopped before he could do more damage, despite being bloodied Derek begged for his son to be spared. SVU then conducted a search and found devices with implicating pictures. SVU also found the clerk and arrested him, but he quickly admitted to SVU that Atlas arranged the whole thing to avoid serious charges.
SVU confront Atlas on his story, but he continues to shift blame on the clerk and his father, with his mother defending him. Unfortunately, he was dismayed to see the clerk has been brought in and is cooperating with the cops by revealing that he and Atlas have been in contact for years through online games, before the latter discovered his sister was going to college. He even revealed Atlas paid him to film raping Josephine, so he could relive it but admits the ransom was solely his idea after learning of the family wealth. When Atlas was interrogated, he tries to deny it but soon flew into a psychotic rage when faced with facts of the clerk's story and the lewd pictures of Josephine in his room. Ignoring his lawyer's advice, he reveals his obsessive love for Josephine, voicing how she was the only person he loved, and he couldn't stand her potentially being different from college. His declaration stuns his mother who voices how he ruined their family, but he casts that aside because it was his job to protect Josephine. Disgusted by his words, Captain Olivia Benson told Atlas that she would tell Josephine and that she will ensure that she knows his monstrous character, while coldly ignoring his pleas. In the end, his family are left in ruin with his mother and stepsister unable to process how this happened while Gordon refused to acknowledge Atlas by refusing to pay for his defense and was heartbroken. It was also said he was looking at harsh time.
