Bellamy Young (born Amy Maria Young) is an actress and singer, who played three different characters in Law & Order and Law & Order: LA.
Young was best known for her role as Melody "Mellie" Grant in the ABC drama series Scandal (2012–2018) with Kerry Washington, Tony Goldwyn, Joshua Malina, Guillermo Diaz, Kate Burton, Scott Foley, George Newbern, Dylan Minnette, Norm Lewis, and Joe Morton. In 2014, for her portrayal of Mellie, Young won the Critics' Choice Television Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series. From 2020 to 2021, Young stars as Jessica Whitly in the Fox series Prodigal Son (with Tom Payne, Lou Diamond Phillips, and Molly Briggs). Young appears as Margaret Honeycroft in the new Fox series Promised Land (with John Ortiz and Yul Vazquez).
In 2021, she guest-starred in the first episode of Fox series, Fantasy Island and starred in the CW reboot of The Waltons' Homecoming playing the role of Olivia Walton (a role originated by Michael Learned in the original series and Richard Thomas). In November 2022, she was cast in the Hulu mystery thriller series The Other Black Girl (with Hunter Parrish and Eric McCormack), a television adaptation of the 2021 novel by Zakiya Dalila Harris. She also reprised her role as Olivia Walton in The Waltons' Thanksgiving.
Young began dating Portuguese percussionist Pedro Segundo in September 2017. During COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, Young and Segundo married.
