Beth Butler is the intended prospective adoptive mother of Sofia Zarov's baby Alexander. Anton Petrov, a Bulgarian mobster, arranged the illegal adoption to take the payment with the intention of killing Sofia once she gave birth.
Sofia was rescued, and Petrov was arrested by Benson and Stabler and imprisoned for life after a gruelingly corrupt trial. Beth and her husband Glenn never got to keep Sofia's baby. (SVU: "Ace")
