Sister Bettina is a progressive and feminist nun and one of the most esteemed staff at the Haven House refuge for runaway and homeless girls. She was falsely accused by Maria Barragon and Maggie Corson, two girls at the shelter, of sexually harassing, groping, and molesting them.
She was cleared when it was revealed she was accused out of panic so the girls would avoid punishment from the real rapist, shelter director Jack Powell. Sister Bettina's accusation of molesting Maggie in the shower was really her washing Maggie because was drunk and to cover her so she wouldn't be thrown out of the home. (L&O: "Sisters of Mercy")
