Betty Drake is one of two owners of Royalty Fashions, along with her husband Ellis Drake. The Drakes held undocumented Mexican citizens captive in their warehouses with the assistance of Mexican orphan Rudy Armendariz, who ran the crimes of the business. Their operations were dismantled when Armendariz killed city inspector Ira Bender and two cousins who tried to escape, Eduardo and María Carranza.
Ellis took a nine-year prison sentence plea to testify against Betty and Armendariz when they were revealed to be having an affair. When the seven other captive victims were found killed in Brooklyn, Betty and Armendariz took pleas to second-degree murder and 25-year prison sentences each. (L&O: "Wedded Bliss")
