Law and Order

Billy Hedges is a man who was wrongfully arrested for raping several women.

History[]

Billy was arrested after a fingerprint of his was found on the window of a victim's apartment sliding door. He attempted to claim his innocence several times and insisted that the lab had made a mistake. At arraignment, Billy's bail was set at $50,000, which he became upset about since he didn't have that kind of money. However, another woman was raped with the same M.O., which caused Benson and the squad to believe that Billy was innocent. After Sergeant Tutuola was shot by Billy's son Toby, he and ADA Carisi paid Billy a visit. It was later discovered that the fingerprint ended up at the crime scene because Billy sold sliding glass doors for a living, including the one that the victim had.

After Glenn Duncan was found to have committed the rapes, he ends up getting shot to death after attempting to shoot several police officers and taking a hostage. Billy was then released from prison and reunited with Toby. (SVU: "Duty to Hope")
