Background information and notes

  • "Blood" refers to the novel and film "The Human Stain", which is said (though the writer himself denied that fact) to be refering to Anatole Broyarda writer and literary critic as well as editor of the New York Times. Though Anatole Broyard was of Afro-American ancestry, he passed as "white" and decided to not tell anybody of his ancestry.
