Robert "Bobby" Reyes Sr. is an NYPD detective with the Manhattan Organized Crime Control Bureau, replacing Victoria Cho and Carlos Maldonado.
Early life[]
Reyes grow up in foster care, having lived a rough life in the system and seeing many things. He was foster brothers with Vaughn Davis, Manny Rivera, and Dante Scott. All four boys were abused physically and sexually by their foster father Leonard Baker, who in his warped teachings tried to make them strong. Reyes heavily resented Baker for his actions, vowing to make sure he and people like him suffered. Unlike the other boys, who chose a life of crime once they aged out of the system, he went on to join the NYPD, eventually rising to the rank of detective. Reyes also married Tammy Reyes and they had three kids, all of whom Reyes treasured.
History[]
Reyes was recommended to join the Organized Crime Control Bureau by One Police Plaza after successfully working undercover assignments with Anti-Crime for 4 Years and with Narcotics for 3 Years. He frequently goes places in disguise, including his first meeting with Organized Crime, when he appeared as an electrician, before revealing his true identity. Bell go to Kenny Kyle's house to question him but a neighbor tells them that Kenny had a seizure and is currently in hospital. They soon discover that Kenny was bitten by poisonous rats and that he could die if he didn't receive immediate care. Reyes and Bell notice that Henry Cole was also bitten by the same poisonous rats which caused him to fall out the window. They go to a club where Kenny goes looking for help with Reyes disguised as a club employee, though Kenny escapes. (OC: "Everybody Knows The Dice Are Loaded")
While the Organized Crime Control Bureau continues to search for Kenny, Reyes goes undercover at the construction site where Teddy is building his new casino, where he and Bell find a man covered in rat bites. Reyes and Bell later find Kenny with a baby. Kenny then holds Bell at gunpoint, but Reyes tackled Kenny before he can hurt Bell or the baby and arrests Kenny. (OC: "Catch Me If You Can")
A case became extremely personal for Reyes when three of his former foster brothers were being investigated for committing crimes. His colleagues soon discovered that Reyes was a victim of abuse from his foster parent along with his other foster brothers. During the case, one of his foster brothers named Dante Scott was shot by the police before he could shoot them. After the injured Dante was rushed to a hospital, Reyes asks him for more information on Vaughn's possible whereabouts, but he does not have any more information. While driving, Reyes decided to confront Leonard Baker. Arriving at the house, he spots Leonard continuing his ways and ends up chasing him until boxing him in. Reyes then points his gun at Leonard, revealing to the latter who was and tries to get him to admit to the abuse that he inflicted on those children. Leonard denies hurting Reyes and claims that he only wanted to protect those boys. Disgusted by his lies, Reyes continues to point his gun at Leonard and nearly kills him on the spot but regains his senses and ties him up, so he doesn't hurt any more boys. Sergeant Ayanna Bell arrived and finds Leonard and Reyes in the apartment and interrogates Leonard about Vaughn, as it is revealed they are still in contact. Leonard told them how he wanted to go out in a blaze of glory. Reyes met up with his wife Tammy at the hospital, where Tammy informed him that Dante had died from his injuries, which devastated Reyes who broke down in tears and was comforted by Tammy.(OC: "Behind Blue Eyes") (OC: "Blaze Of Glory")
Slootmaekers becomes furious with Reyes after she finds out that he took photos of her kissing a criminal while undercover. Reyes calmly explains that he had to do it, and that Bell has a job to do. Slootmaekers angrily tells Reyes that she has to prove that she isn't a threat to Bell's job. (OC: "Punch Drunk")
After Whelan is murdered in an officer involved shooting, Reyes takes his death harder than his other colleagues and mourns terribly due to their close friendship. (OC: "With Many Names")
Reyes stated to Slootmaekers that he is taking a leave of absence as he was not the same after Whelan's death and needed be there for his kids since he signed the divorce papers that morning and that his kids does not understand as it has been unofficially for months as well as putting himself back together while he was at it.
