The ninth season of Law & Order: Criminal Intent premiered on March 30, 2010 and concluded on July 6, 2010. It was the last season to feature Eric Bogosian as Danny Ross and Jeff Goldblum as Zack Nichols. It was also the only season to feature Saffron Burrows as Serena Stevens and Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio as Zoe Callas. This season differed greatly from the previous seasons as it focused primarily on a new detective and captain who joined this season as well as Zack Nichols who joined in the previous season. This also saw the departure of Vincent D'Onofrio as Robert Goren and Kathryn Erbe as Alexandra Eames from the cast who were only in the first two episodes of the season before leaving the series in plans to revamp the series. Both Goren and Eames would return in the following season. It aired alongside season twenty of Law & Order and season eleven of Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.
