Carl Braddock is the CEO of the Braddock & Todd trading firm. His firm was guilty of pump and dump scams with their investors, as well as affiliating with the Dantini crime family to assist in their money laundering. Braddock’s crimes were caught by one of his stockbrokers, Sean Alvarez, who demanded $2 million in exchange for his silence. Braddock arranged for the payment by framing one of his clients, Mitchell Simms, for blackmail, then staging a phony civil settlement with Alvarez to pay the money.

However, one of the senior managers who assisted the con, Bruce Valentine, kept the money for himself, then had Simms kill Alvarez before Valentine killed Simms in a staged suicide. When all the scams and financial crimes were uncovered, Valentine tried to blame the Dantinis, but the forensic and financial evidence sealed his fate.

In exchange for his testimony, Braddock was given a deal of a reduced prison sentence for his white-collar crimes. (L&O: “Trade This”)
