Background Information and Notes[]

  • The title refers to a song from Jay-Z's 2000 album, The Dynasty: Roc La Familia.
  • This is the first episode of Law & Order: Organized Crime not to feature all the main cast members as Nona Parker Johnson does not appear in this episode.
  • Bridget Donnelly makes a comment about how Elliot Stabler was likely there for the births of all his children. However, he wasn't with Kathy until a few hours after Eli was born, which happened in the Law & Order: Special Victims Unit episode "Paternity". This likely partially accounts for the faraway look in Stabler's eye.
  • Elliot Stabler and Frank Donnelly have a discussion about being cops. Donnelly says that, were he not a cop, he would probably still be doing the same things (running a criminal gang) but without the badge. Stabler responds that if he were not a cop, he would be an architect. In the SVU episode "Swing", Elliot's mother Bernadette said that, as a child, he wanted to be an architect; Elliot responds that he had always wanted to be a cop. During this conversation, though, when Donnelly asks Stabler "what happened" to his childhood dream, he says that his father "beat that out of me."
