Charles Ackman is the manager of Northwestern Pharma who was responsible for the death of countless people.
History[]
After his nephew Wyatt gets arrested for Mary Costello's murder, Wyatt offered to give Price and Maroun a recording of Charles talking to Wyatt about opioid addiction and his uncle not caring about anything other than making a profit. He admitted that he knew that the Oxycodone he sells was potent and highly addictive; he was paying doctors to over-prescribe it and get people addicted. His uncle Charles didn't care about people becoming addicts and overdosing, he just wanted to make profits.
Knowing that Ackman had been hiding crucial information of his opioid product, and defrauding the public, Price tries to convince McCoy to take Charles to trial. McCoy agreed to taking down Charles for the death of Eric Howe and countless other peoples' deaths. Charles was then taken to trial for manslaughter of Howe. However, Charles' attorney tried to claim that Charles never met Howe and that they are trying to pin his death on Charles. During the trial, Charles testifies and claims that the drugs are legal and he never sold them to addicts but did market to veterans so Price manages to point out that veterans die of opioid overdoses more than the general population. He also points out that people had been taking his drug without proper knowledge of the risks. Charles' attorney calls for a mistrial. However, the judge denies his motion. In the end, Charles gets found guilty and imprisoned. (L&O: "The Great Pretender")
