The Chicago Police Department is currently the police force with primary responsibilities in law enforcement and investigation within the city of Chicago, the largest city in the state of Illinois and the third-largest city in the United States.
It is the primary police department of focus in Chicago P.D., which has occasionally crossed over with Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.
