Law and Order

Chris Mason is the killer of Nancy Hartwig and Officer Dale McCloskey.

History[]

Little is revealed about Mason, except he was divorced from his wife Ann and restricted from visiting their children due to drug addictions and a collapsed business venture. He met Nancy, his former grade school classmate, who he killed in her community garden with a shovel. Stealing her car for a cocaine purchase, Mason was accompanied by Wayne Jenkins when Officer McCloskey pulled them over. Mason shot McCloskey who killed Jenkins in return fire before he died. Mason ditched the car and ran once it careened off the road.

When Mason was taken to trial, Judge Malcolm Reynolds presided. A mistrial needed to be declared when Judge Reynolds’ competence was revealed too diminished for the trial. Mason’s legal fate was left unknown. (L&O: "Zero")
