IMDb profile

Christopher "Chris" David Noth is an actor who played Detective Mike Logan in Law & Order and Law & Order: Criminal Intent.

Noth made his first appearance in the pilot episode "Prescription for Death" (he also appeared in the original pilot "Everybody's Favorite Bagman" in 1988). He was fired from the show after the fifth season. Personality differences between Noth and creator Dick Wolf settled down long enough to film a Logan-centric TV movie, Exiled: A Law & Order Movie in 1998.

After Law & Order, Noth scored a strong comeback when he took on the role of Carrie Bradshaw's enigmatic on-again, off-again boyfriend "Mr. Big" on HBO's Sex and the City (with Cynthia Nixon) . Noth played the role for six years from 1998-2004, and later reprised the role in 2008 for the film version of the series and it’s sequel in 2010.

In 2001, he played an FBI agent on a couple of episodes of Crossing Jordan, re-uniting him with Law & Order co-star Jill Hennessy.

In 2005, Noth returned to the role of Mike Logan on Criminal Intent, joining the show in its fifth season following a guest appearance on the fourth season episode "Stress Position". On this spin-off of the original Law & Order, Noth's detective team alternated episodes with Vincent D'Onofrio and Kathryn Erbe's characters. Noth left CI and the role of Mike Logan for good in 2008 (and went on to have another strong supporting role on the CBS drama series The Good Wife, starring Julianna Margulies).

Noth also appeared in a 1995 episode of Homicide: Life on the Street titled "Law and Disorder" as Detective Mike Logan.

Along with Jerry Orbach, Dann Florek, Alana De La Garza, and Fred Dalton Thompson, he is one of five Law & Order cast members who later joined the regular cast of one of the spin-off series.

Noth currently stars as William Bishop in CBS reboot crime drama series The Equalizer (with Lorraine Toussaint, Liza Lapira, and Adam Goldberg).

Noth was in a relationship with actress Beverly Johnson, who guest-starred on two episodes of Law & Order, until 1995. He is currently married to Canadian actress Tara Lynn Wilson in 2012, since they have meet between 2001 and 2002 and they have two sons Orion (born January 2008) and Keats (born February 2020).
