Claire Catherine Danes is an actress who played Tracy Brandt in the Law & Order Season 3 episode "Skin Deep".
In 1994, Danes starred as Angela Chase in the television drama series My So-Called Life (with Devon Gummersall and Tom Irwin), for which she won a Golden Globe Award and received an Emmy nomination. She appeared as Kate Brewster in the film Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines (with Nick Stahl and David Andrews). She starred in the 1994 film adaptation of Little Women (with Samantha Mathis) and the 1996 film adaptation Romeo + Juliet (with Paul Sorvino, Diane Venora, Vondie Curtis-Hall, Brian Dennehy, Dash Mihok, Zak Orth, and Harold Perrineau). In 2010, she portrayed Temple Grandin in the highly acclaimed HBO television film Temple Grandin (with Julia Ormond), which won her a second Golden Globe and her first Primetime Emmy Award for the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series or Movie.
She played CIA agent Carrie Mathison in the Showtime series Homeland (2011–2020) with Amy Hargreaves as her sister Maggie Mathison, Mandy Patinkin as her mentor Saul Berenson, James Rebhorn as her father Frank Mathison, Dominic Fumusa, Linus Roache, Tim Guinee, Terry Serpico, and Jake Weber. For her role as Carrie Mathison for which she won two Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series, two Golden Globe Awards for Best Actress – Television Series Drama, and the Television Critics Association Award for Individual Achievement in Drama.
Danes met actor Hugh Dancy on the set of the film Evening in Newport, Rhode Island in 2006. They announced their engagement in February 2009 and married in France in a private ceremony later that year. They have two children together, Cyrus Michael Christopher Dancy, born on December 17, 2012, and a second son, Rowan, born on August 27, 2018. They appeared in the final season of Homeland together. Dancy went on to join the main cast of Law & Order as Nolan Price starting with Season 21. On January 9, 2023, Danes and Dancy announced they're expecting their third child after Danes was nominated for a Golden Globe last month in the best supporting actress in a limited series category for her performance in Fleishman Is in Trouble. Their daughter Lynde Jayne was born on July 2023.
