The State of Connecticut is a northern state of the United States of America, one of the original 13 colonies. Connecticut had territorial claims in northern Illinois, southern Michigan and north Ohio. The state ceded the territories to the U.S. government in 1786.

In 1991, a Connecticut law about abortion was posted in the New York Times. This article was upsetting to anti-abortion activist Mary Donovan. (L&O: "Life Choice")

By 1994, Connecticut gun laws were less strict than those of New York. Because of this, Michael Dobson went to the State to purchase a .32 caliber Ruger revolver for $298 from a gun store in Bridgeport. He later gave the gun to a hitman to kill his wife. The gun store owner was brought in to testify in Dobson's trial. (L&O: "Coma")
