Mr. Cristobal is a hitman working for the Columbian cartel.

History[]

Following the conviction of Javier Lariano Gaitan, Cristobal shot and killed him on the courthouse steps and was arrested. Cristobal claimed that Gaitan had murdered his 19 year old son two years before and that he was afraid that Gaitan would buy his way out of trouble like he did in Columbia. ADA Benjamin Stone reluctantly agreed to allow Cristobal to plead guilty to first-degree manslaughter and be sentenced to four to twelve years in prison. At his allocution, Cristobal painted a sympathetic picture of himself and claimed remorse. As such, the judge agreed to give him a $100,000 bail and two days before his final sentencing to get his affairs in order.

However, the cops and the prosecutors learned too late from black market gun dealer George Lobrano that Cristobal's grieving father routine was actually an act and that he also worked for the Columbian cartel. Cristobal was actually a hitman sent to kill Gaitan in the fear that he would make a deal with the prosecutors and federal government and turn on the cartel. Although the police quickly covered the airports, Cristobal was already gone on a plane to Columbia having left 40 minutes after the plea deal was entered and his wife emptied out all of their bank accounts before the hearing. According to Lobrano, he sold a couple of guns to Cristobal who he didn't recognize until he saw the man on TV. According to rumors, Cristobal's son "was getting chummy with the Feds" and Gaitan may or may not have been the one to kill him for it. All of the other witnesses involved with the case were executed and kidnapped by other cartel mercenaries. (L&O: "Prince of Darkness")
