Background information and notes

  • Title: D-Girl. The "D" stands for "development." In the world of filmmaking, a development girl is someone who occupies a low rung on the power ladder. Her job would be to perform low-level tasks like reading scripts.
  • Guest stars Lauren Graham and Scott Cohen reunited years later on Gilmore Girls. Graham was the star of the long-running series, and Cohen had a recurring role in seasons 1 & 2 as her daughter's teacher - who later became her ultimately jilted fiance.
  • This episode (along with "Turnaround" and "Showtime") is part of a trilogy which has strongly been ripped from the headline of the notorious, controversial, and highly publicized O.J. Simpson murder case. Locations, characters, and other aspects loosely resemble those that came to denote the affair.
