Law and Order

Damon Kerrigan is a serial rapist and double murderer with the assistance, and even at the instruction, of his girlfriend Maya Sills.

Background[]

Kerrigan had a previous rape charge that was dropped, with his uncle Joe Boyleston testifying in his defense, as he would usually be called to do when Kerrigan was in trouble. He eventually became a fireman and met Maya Sills, a nursing aide seeing Kerrigan as a surrogate for her father, being in the working class and having a record like her father, who would have sex with prostitutes. Sills and Kerrigan clicked instantly, with Sills being an accomplice for Kerrigan to find women to assault and degraded, with Sills practically insisting it to maintain their relationship.

Janine Lutz, one of Sills' co-workers she stole drugs for, would have threesomes with the couple. One night, Sills spiked Janine's drink and watched Kerrigan rape her, before Sills whispered to her "now you know who killed you", the same thing her father taught her when they were hunting. Despite the two intending to kill Janine, she escaped, failing to take out restraining orders on them and instead fleeing to new addresses. Sills was devastated, as she was paranoid Kerrigan wouldn't stay if he didn't kill Janine, so she kept stalking Janine until she could find her. All the while, Sills would find women who would come into the ER she worked at so she could kidnap them and bring them to Kerrigan.

Love Sick[]

Rachel Melham came to the hospital after her cheek was cut from being thrown into the middle of a street fight over drugs. Sills used taking her away from Randall Ames, a nurse and Sills' ex with a pension for sexual harassment, to get Rachel's guard down long enough to abduct her. Taking her back to her place with Kerrigan, he raped and strangled Rachel to death, before Sills cleaned her, dressed her, and applied makeup scantily before leaving her in an alley not far from their place.

Isabel Felix came in after injuring her hand on a drawer, Sills using Ames yet again as an excuse. Kerrigan raped and murdered her too, with Sills shown partly out of view, except her gloved hands painting Isabel's toenails while she was dead in a bathtub. Isabel was left in another alley in close proximity. When the hospital was found as the common factor, Sills was questioned, but she blamed Ames. Kerrigan, and Uncle Joe at Kerrigan's behest, backed her up by saying Ames was a "creep" and that they were rogether during each murder, once at a birthday party.

Knowing they're both lying, the detectives dig into their shared history, and Joe admits the birthday party was a lie. In the meantime, Kerrigan and Sills have sex, with Sills in bondage to emulate what Kerrigan likes in his crimes. But while she's scrubbing the bathroom, she's distraught about Janine getting away, despite Kerrigan insisting he'll never leave her. Sills demands they get her again, and she even finds an address. Kerrigan insists she let it go, but Sills begs him to keep their relationship built on their shared crimes, which Kerrigan agrees to.

When Sills finds Janine, who flees after seeing her, Kerrigan uses his position as a fireman to get into the building. Barreling his way through Janine's door when she opens it, he's arrested by police on the other side, with Sills being arrested while waiting in the car. Kerrigan's lawyer alleges Janine won't testify credibly enough because of her drug addiction. Sills insists she was forced to be an accomplice and abused by Kerrigan, but Janine testified she was just as complicit. This was used against Sills by turning her profile into a confession of both their crimes and competence.

Kerrigan was found guilty of several counts of murder, rape, kidnapping, desecration, and conspiracy and was imprisoned for life. (CI: "Love Sick")
