Dave Oldren is the chauffer of state congresswoman Maureen Pagolis and her husband George. Oldren tried to arrange for George's murder during a reenactment, but due to a costume switch, the hired sniper, Steve Giltari, shot the wrong person, Judge Thomas Layton. Oldren then killed Giltari to tie loose ends and planted a fake "weapon" on George's person to frame him.
It didn't work in the end, and Major Case interrogated him, where he ended up confessing in full. Oldren was found guilty of murder and conspiracy and sentenced to life without parole.
