David Kenneth Harbour is an actor who played five different characters on Law & Order, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, and Law & Order: Criminal Intent.
He is best known for his role as Chief Jim Hopper in the Netflix series Stranger Things with Caleb McLaughlin, Cara Buono, Cary Elwes, Sean Astin, and Matthew Modine.
From 2012 to 2014, he also played the recurring role of Elliot Hirsch in The Newsroom (with Alison Pill, Thomas Sadoski and Sam Waterston).
Harbour had supporting roles in films such as Brokeback Mountain (2005), Quantum of Solace (2008), The Green Hornet (2011), End of Watch (2012), The Equalizer (2014) (with Bill Pullman and Melissa Leo), Black Mass (2015), Suicide Squad (2016) (with Viola Davis and Adam Beach), Alexei Shostakov/Red Guardian in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) film Black Widow (2021; with Violet McGraw), a role he will reprise in the film Thunderbolts (with Sebastian Stan), and also portrayed the title character in the superhero film Hellboy (2019) (with Daniel Dae Kim).
Harbour also starred in the 2024 video game Alone in the Dark (with Jodie Comer).
He lent his voice as the Father Turtle in the animated short film Turtle Journey from Greenpeace.
Harbour was previously engaged to actress Maria Thayer, who appeared on CI and SVU. He married singer Lily Allen on September 7, 2020, in Las Vegas, Nevada.
