David Margulies (February 19, 1937-January 11, 2016) was an actor who played five different characters on Law & Order and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.
Margulies played the mayor of New York City in the films Ghostbusters and Ghostbusters II (with Ernie Hudson and Annie Potts in both, William Atherton in the first, and Kevin Dunn, Kurt Fuller, Chloe Webb, and Harris Yulin in the second).
He was in a relationship with actress Lois Smith, who has guest-starred across the Law & Order franchise.
