Dean Reynolds is the CEO of Tauscher-Leto Pharmaceuticals and the facilitator of a school shooting due to illegal pharmaceutical marketing.
History[]
Reynolds would get into business partnerships with doctors for direct mail prescriptions of the company's drug Aptral to patients. Unfortunately, the drug had counterproductive adverse effects that made patients more volatile, yet the drug was still mailed without proper regulatory checks and balances regarding ethics and facts.
When Joe Blaine ended up taking the drugs when his mother received a package and she needed his ADD in check, he underwent a psychotic break and shot two boys at his school, before running off and trying and failing to shoot himself. When he was identified, the drugs were found in his systems, and his mother confessed to administering them.
When Blaine was sentenced to reduced jail time due to his diminished competence, the squad started investigating Tauscher-Leto. Reynolds' sales representative, Jane Wellesley, gave the team the evidence of negligence needed to arrest him during a lecture.
Reynolds was found guilty of criminal diversion of prescriptions and two counts of reckless endangerment and was imprisoned. (SVU: "Manic")
