Delores Alvarez is the Latina nanny of the Mill family, who was hired by the matriarch, Anna.
Background[]
Delores adored the four relatives for their compassion for her to keep her and her brother Emilio in the country. She loved seeing how they treated each other, and Anna would always say good night to her in Spanish every time she went home. Anna's husband Julian, who was a stay-at-home writer, never wanted a nanny, but Anna insisted and helped Delores be welcomed into the home partly to have Julian accept the arrangement as well.
Eventually, not only did Delores admire the lives of the Mills, she started to fall in love with Julian. As she became obsessed, she kept photos at her apartment of the Mill family and her with Anna never in the pictures, as well as wrote in her diary about what she did in her activities with them and how she longed to be with Julian and the kids, finding Anna a lucky woman. Delores would also argue over little things with Julian like husband and wife and even take long coffee breaks with him.
Delores arrived one day, letting herself in with the house key she had, to make the kids breakfast. When she got no response from calling out to them, she went into the bedrooms of the families, Julian and his children, Rachel and Charlie, were all stabbed in their beds and motionless She shook Julian and Rachel, but they were dead, too distraught and in shock to shake Charlie. She grabbed the knife used to kill them without thinking, and realizing she'd be blamed from her fingerprints on the weapon, she took the knife with her and ran.

Charlie was still alive, however, and made it down the street bleeding from his wounds, with a neighbor's nanny crossing his path and calling the paramedics. Charlie later died at the hospital. Anna was notified at her law firm and broke down in tears, first suspecting someone outside of the household, specifically someone familiar since they casually went into the home.
Delores was the prime suspect when she was sought after and the picture collages and knife were found. She was found hiding with Emilio and arrested. She swore she had no culpability in the family's murders and told her account and motives of the actions she did commit. She was jailed regardless pending trial, but the team investigated more to cover their bases despite the trauma of the crimes.
It was revealed Anna herself killed her own family, as she was stealing from her clients and felt her family would collapse without her the moment she was found out and charged. Delores was released, and Anna was placed on trial. When there was difficulty trying to prove Anna's sane competence in the murders, Delores was questioned despite her mistreatment by the police. Delores revealed Anna didn't say good night the night before the murders. She said goodbye, as well as kissed Delores, proving she planned the murders more than was being portrayed in her defense. This was enough to convict Anna of Julian's murder, but not Rachel and Charlie.
Delores herself lamented she had the Mills to thank for keeping her in America and taking such great care of her and her own family by providing for them.
