Derek Quinn was a teacher who survived a mass shooting at his school and later assassinated Senator Alan Chandler.

History[]

After shooting Chandler at his daughter's wedding, Quinn went for a walk around the city before returning to pick up his car. When Detective Shaw approached Quinn when he was at his car, Quinn attempted to escape from police custody but got cornered. Quinn then pulled out a gun and attempted to shoot himself, but Shaw managed to get him to drop the gun and surrender.

At Quinn's trial, Quinn was represented by Rebecca McCoy. He testified about his experiences during the school shooting, during which sixteen of his students were murdered. Throughout the trial, Price related to Quinn's trauma as Price witnessed a mass shooting in a subway station. Eventually, Quinn was found guilty of murder and imprisoned. (L&O: "Open Wounds")
