Dewey Lattimer is the assailant of Gulf War veteran Daniel Johnson, at the direction of Daniel’s wife Denise Johnson, so she could save her substantial life. When Lattimer failed, Denise left him to get arrested.
When Denise successfully killed Daniel through Charlie Kovac, only to shoot Kovac dead herself, the law and justice system made the connection when both attacks on Daniel were by his work schedule, which Denise would know. Lattimer was threatened as a witness to make Denise take a plea to murder, in exchange for Lattimer’s charges getting dropped. (L&O: “Purple Heart”)
