Dr. Diane Meade is a psychotherapist in an affair with one of her patients, Dan Garrett. She dominated Garrett and set the grounds for him killing his fiancé, Dr. Jenny Gorham, when she told him to retrieve his journal where he wrote about their affair.
Dr. Meade was tried for depraved indifference murder, with Garrett taking a plea to reduced prison time to testify against her. Meade agreed to a criminally negligent homicide plea and received probation while being stripped of her license. The legal team feared she’d still see patients without warrant.
