Donald John Trump is a wealthy businessman who owns many properties across the country. He was the 45th President of the United States, assuming office from 2017 to 2021 after winning the 2016 presidential election against Hillary Clinton but losing to Joe Biden in the 2020 presidential election. Trump reran for office in the 2024 presidential election, winning both the popular and electoral votes against incumbent U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris. Since initially leaving office in 2021, Trump has faced a litany of legal affairs, including four indictments, one of which resulted in a conviction.

Didier Foucault had in his possession what appeared to be a letter from Trump thanking Foucault for his "timely advice". A word in the letter was misspelled, which put its legitimacy in doubt. (CI: "The Extra Man")

According to the Law & Order: Special Victims Unit Unofficial Companion, Trump was originally cast as Barclay Pallister in the Law & Order: Special Victims Unit episode "Design", but he wasn't ready in time for production. This resulted in him being replaced by Julian Sands.

Trump's allegations of sexual assault and harassment by numerous women would later be the inspiration for the SVU episode "Decline and Fall". Sources also said the allegations would have been the direct basis for the unreleased SVU episode "Unstoppable", where a politician would be facing allegations while campaigning. The episode was never completed and shelved for unclear reasons. In 2023, Trump was found liable for sexual abuse and the defamation of E. Jean Carroll.
