Background Information and Notes[]
- "Dutch tears" are the tear-like shapes of molten glass dropped into cold water. Ivan Hernandez talks about them in this episode.
- This is the second occasion that someone from Tutuola's past has sought him out looking for justice for themselves or someone they cared about. The first was Sandra Knowles in the sixth season episode "Haunted", for her daughter Tricia.
- Benson mentions the murder of Fin's mother, which he had told her about first in the episode "Diss".
- Tutuola reveals Munch has gotten married for the fifth time to a divorced female rabbi and reclaimed his bar in Baltimore, though without naming him explicitly. Bruno, though, eventually names Munch later in the episode.
- Three days after this episode first aired, actor Richard Belzer, who portrayed Munch from 1993 to 2016, passed away at his home in Beaulieu-sur-Mer, France, at the age of 78.
- Despite Dutch having been raped over 20 years ago, the statutes of limitations for second- and third-degree rape were only five years prior to 2019, which were extended to 20 and 10 years, respectively. The statute of limitations for first-degree rape was only five years, per N.Y. Crim. Pro. Law § 30.10. As a result, neither Ryan nor his friend Virgil, who actually committed the crime, could actually be legally arrested and prosecuted for the crime, as this episode aired in 2023.
