Eamon Murphy is a crime boss and the prime suspect in the murder of Detective Darrell Jennings.
History[]
After Octavio Montanero recants at the parole hearing, Bell meets with Octavio who tells her that Murphy murdered her partner. Meanwhile, Murphy goes into a confession stand where he admits that he has thoughts about killing priests. Murphy accuses the priest of stealing from the offerings and then threatens him. Murphy then talks with Seamus O'Meara who tells him what happened at a meeting. After Octavio gets murdered in prison, Stabler and Bell brief the team about Murphy. Bell then meets with Teddy and asks him to reopen his bar so they can attract Murphy. Teddy becomes nervous and claims that he will do it if he can get time off his sentence. Later, Murphy visits Octavio’s wife with a knife and threatens her with the dog. Murphy tells her that Octavio made a promise to be loyal and that he didn’t keep the promise. Murphy then tells her that Octavio had died and if anyone asks about him, she shouldn’t tell them anything. Murphy then flirts with Octavio’s wife before leaving. Later, after Jet goes undercover to meet with Seamus at the bar, Murphy arrives with the dog and Jet invites him to play cards with them at the table. (OC: "Partners In Crime")
At Teddy's bar, Murphy knocks on the door and complains about the cold weather. Murphy enters the bar and tells his dog to stay. Murphy then mentions that the dog does what he tells him, and he expects his crew to do the same. Stabler then asks Murphy where he was last night when the rival gang came in. Murphy tells him that he wants 50% of the house but Stabler offers 10, 20 or 25. Stabler tells Murphy to show the neighborhood who is in charge. Murphy wants the bar cameras gone and the names and social media of everyone who works at the bar. Murphy also wants Stabler to figure out where to find him and bring it to him personally. When Seamus and Jet meet, Murphy appears which Seamus becomes suspicious about. Jet then notices that Murphy is wearing a police academy ring before a helicopter passes overhead. Murphy tells Seamus that he should have left Jet at home while Bell tries to figure out who is driving the helicopter. Bell then finds out that the helicopter driver is an Irish boxing champion and Murphy wants to use him to settle the dispute with the rival gang. Later, Reyes tries to get a confidential informant to make a deal with Murphy so they can catch him in the act, but the confidential informant doesn't want to seem to buy drugs from Murphy. Reyes manages to convince him to go forward with the mission. After the confidential informant backs out, Murphy shows up and Stabler acts submissive towards him. Murphy then leaves and Stabler says that he should set up a buy with Teddy. A few moments later, Teddy talks with Murphy about selling his product, but Murphy becomes skeptical and asks for 80%. Teddy declines the offer, but Murphy says that if he said yes to the offer, then he would believe that Teddy was working with the cops. Teddy then scoffs and tells Murphy that they get 50-50. Murphy tells Teddy that he will find out if Teddy is up to anything before Teddy walks off nervous. At the bar, Murphy's crew sets up his fight event and Vincent Morello shows up. Michael Amato then enters the bar and attempts to shoot at Murphy while Seamus takes Jet away from the scene. (OC: "Punch Drunk")
After Seamus attacks Jet, Murphy appears and tells Seamus to get the garbage off the floor. Seamus then shoves Jet into the trunk and drives off. During the search for Jet, Stabler breaks into Murphy's warehouse and demands to know the whereabouts of Seamus. Later, after Bell and Stabler find Jet and Seamus, Murphy and his goon rough Amato up for trying to shoot him. Amato tells Murphy that the men working at the bar are cops. Murphy tells Amato that if that was true, he'd let the pigs get the better of him. Murphy then orders his dog to kill Amato before making a phone call. Later, after Teddy manages to escape from Reyes and Whelan, Murphy disguises at Teddy's driver. Teddy then tells Murphy to go to the airport, but Murphy turns around and kidnaps Teddy. While questioning Luis, Reyes and Whelan discover that Murphy has kidnapped Teddy. Meanwhile, Teddy tells Murphy's goons that he was not assisting the police and attempts to bribe them. Murphy threatens Teddy with the dog before Teddy offers to testify on Murphy's behalf. The team then show up and arrest Murphy and Teddy. At the precinct, Bell looks at Murphy during interrogation. Stabler offers to interrogate Murphy, but Bell doesn't let him. Bell goes in and has a staring contest with Murphy before interrogating him. Murphy tells Bell that he read about Darryl's murder in the paper and tells them that it is a shame that Montanero is dead. Bell tells Murphy that she has the pen gun, and that Murphy is done. A few moments later, Stabler checks in on Bell who says Murphy wasn't scared. Thurman then shows up and says that the FBI is seizing all the files and that Murphy is a protected informant. Bell refuses to let them take her photos of Darryl. Murphy calls Bell and tells her that he is going to have his dog urinate on Darryl's grave. Bell storms out and drives away, ignoring Stabler's phone call. Bell goes to where Murphy is hiding and demands that he handed over Darryl's ring. Murphy tells Bell to beg for the ring, but she refuses. Murphy tells Bell that she has more self-respect than Darryl who begged for his life. Bell then pulls her gun on Murphy and claims that she will shoot him. Stabler then shows up and tries to convince Bell to put the gun down. Stabler then gives Murphy a dirty look as they exit the hideout. A few moments later, Murphy orders his men to attack and murder Seamus in prison. After Bell notifies Jet about Seamus' death, Stabler meets with Murphy in a park where he threatens him (OC: "All In The Game")
