Eddie Upshaw is the prime suspect in the molestations of Angela Jones and Sam Carson, the former of whom later assaulted and sodomized him.
History[]
Upshaw is the owner and manager of a New York City welding shop. An eight-year-old girl by the name of Angela Jones knew Upshaw, as she was a friend of his daughter. He was accused of molesting her until the age of 11, sparking a trial, but nobody believed her. Upshaw later met a 15-year-old boy named Sam Carson. He started off helping Sam but then started asking him about his activities with girls and other sexual things. Despite this, his employees and apprentices described him as being a good man.
A few years later, Angela broke into his shop and hit him with a crowbar, sodomized him with an object, and carved the date "June 15, 2001", the first time she was molested. Late at night, Sam and his father came into the shop to ask Upshaw a question, but they only found him tied up, leading the Special Victims Unit to locate the suspect. Sam became a suspect in the crime, but the station noticed something weird with his behavior. Upshaw woke up to Detective Bruno and Sergeant Tutuola, who asked him if anyone wanted to hurt him, but he claimed that no one would have a motive. Sam later told Bruno that Upshaw inappropriately touched him and forced him to touch him. Upshaw was confronted by Bruno and Tutoula once again, but he declined to talk. Angela was eventually tracked down, and she pleaded down to felony second-degree assault, while Upshaw was not charged due to Sam being too afraid to testify. (SVU: "The Accuser")
