Eduardo Alvarez is a fan of bigot and gang leader Elvis Baktashi, who went on to perform a vigilante murder in his name.

Idolizing Baktashi, he gathered Juan and Louie some of like-minded friends to do vigilante work. This resulted in Alvarez leading them to go after and murder Lonnie Liston. The three wore masks and rode their motorcycles in the attack. They proceeded to torture and lynch Lonnie out of suspicion of the kidnapping and murder of Muslim coworker Ceranda Zajmi. They also burned the hotel building housing other sex offenders, severely injuring many of the residents in the process. In reality, Alvarez was manipulated by Roy Eastman, a racist parole officer who wanted to kill Liston for dating Eastman's stepdaughter, McKenna Jensen. Liston was already set up for Ceranda's murder by blackmailing Sam Johnson, brother of ex-con Antonio Johnson, to kill her and frame Liston.
Residents of the pedo building implicated Alvarez and his accomplices after hearing their names and saying three men were responsible. As a result, Alvarez and his friends were arrested and interrogated by SVU. Alvarez initially tried to dent allegations but was incriminated after pictures of the dead Lonnie were found. He then pinned the blame on his friends, who likewise did the same on their other friends to avoid harsher punishment but when brought to their cells they lied on not talking. SVU also revealed that Bakatashi had no idea of their identities nor was he involved.
Alvarez was found guilty of lynching, hate crimes, arson, massive injury, murder, and conspiracy while being imprisoned for life. (SVU: "Welcome to the Pedo Motel")
