Elieen Bennett is the mother of Lindsay Bennett, a college student who attempted suicide, resulting in the police being called. It was revealed Lindsay was gang-raped at Tau Omega Fraternity, where the admins of Thompkins Square University were covering up the rapes. Eileen went straight to the police when the dean, A. Meyerson, was trying to bury the report with the assistance of campus cop Leo Barth at her instruction.
The university was taken to trial regarding reckless endangerment and facilitation. Lindsay was too overwhelmed and dropped her complaint, then jumped to her death despite the efforts of her only confidant, Joe Dawson. Dawson, one of the rapists at the frat house, sold out the other rapists with video evidence, and the dean and campus cop were also arrested.
