Earnest Lee "Ernie" Hudson (born December 17, 1945 in Benton Harbor, Michigan) is an actor who played Frank Gibson, the new boyfriend of Lieutenant Anita Van Buren, in seven episodes of Law & Order.
Hudson is best known for his roles in films such as Winston Zeddemore in the Ghostbusters film series (with Annie Potts, David Margulies in the first two films, William Atherton in the first film and Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire, and Bokeem Woodbine and J.K. Simmons in Ghostbusters: Afterlife), The Hand That Rocks the Cradle (with Annabella Sciorra and Rebecca De Mornay), The Crow, and the Miss Congeniality film series (the first film with Benjamin Bratt and Candice Bergen) as well as his portrayal of Warden Leo Glynn on the TV series Oz (with Harold Perrineau, Kirk Acevedo, Terry Kinney, Rita Moreno, J.K. Simmons, Lee Tergesen, and Dean Winters). He also starred on the shows APB (with Justin Kirk), The Family Business (with Armand Assante), L.A.'s Finest (with Zach Gilford), and the 2022 version of Quantum Leap as well as voicing Agent William Fowler in the animated series Transformers: Prime.
