Background information and notes[]

  • This is the one remaining unaired episode after the show's cancellation and was aired as the series finale on Australia's Network 10 in late 2005, before it even aired in the US. Court TV (now called TruTV) would include the episode in its run of the series the following year. The episode is part of the DVD collection of the series but was never shown on NBC for unknown reasons.
  • As Detective Salazar examines a storage area, he comments on the tendency of many individuals to retain items that are essentially worthless. In response, Detective Ravell states, "one man gathers what another man spills." This quote originates from Robert Hunter, an American singer, songwriter, composer, and poet renowned for his collaboration with the rock band Grateful Dead. Additionally, this phrase appears in one of his songs, "St. Stephen", which was performed by the Grateful Dead band in 1969.
  • The episode's title might be a reference to the Greek god of love Eros.
