Assistant Corporate Counsel Garrett Gillespie was the representative of Sean Hamill in family court for prosecuting Emma Boyd over stabbing and paralyzing Sean.
History[]
It was revealed Sean bullied, harassed, and threatened her on a regular basis in school because her mother Kate Boyd was in a same-sex relationship with Zoe Dunlop, and Emma was provoked because Sean tried to kiss her without consent and then cut off her ponytail with the scissors.
Emma was portrayed as aggressive to the judge originally to secure a conviction. The counselor at the Catholic academy the two kids went to, Father Justin Miller, provided saved info on Sean's emails to email threatening and harassing her repeatedly. Presenting it privately to Gillespie, Benson convinced Gillespie he'd ruin the trial and his own credibility going through with the prosecution. Emma was pleaded down, and her sentence was reduced to counseling. (SVU: "Alien")
