Garrett Perle was a young, tech savvy video games addict and a murderer inspired by the games.

History[]

In a dominant relationship with Louise Karnaki, Perle wanted to commit a crime spree based on his favorite game, NtenCity, after it wasn't enough to create his own fan designs into the game itself. Perle started by having Karnaki seduce lonely sex addict Larry Tauber out of a strip club and paid for prostitute Melody Quinn to sexually gratify Tauber.

Afterwards, Perle and Karnaki beat and kicked Melody, then fatally ran her over. To cover their tracks, Perle paid the game's creator, Stuart Davis, to send a harassing, self-deleting email to Tauber accusing him of Melody's murder, causing him to pay for one final sex service and jump off the roof of his building. Perle and Karnaki arrived to kick and beat his corpse, still emulating the game.

The couple were tracked from security footage at the strip club and Perle's original mini-games in the software of NtenCity. He set up a trap that wiped his hard drive when the police tried to arrest him, but Melody's blood and tissues were found on the couple's clothes worn during the murder. Perle bragged in interrogation about his love for violent games, but pretended to not know what it was like to kill someone by saying he was jealous cops were warranted to kill.

In court, Perle tried to say he "wasn't" competent from his gaming addictions and that Tauber "controlled" him and Karnaki. But when Davis' email was found, Perle was confronted on the stand. he was amused and boasted he thought the crimes and even the trial were all a joke, which ruined his defense argument.

Both Perle and Karnaki were found guilty of murder in the second degree and imprisoned. Perle made one more violent gesture in court while being escorted out. (SVU: "Game")
