Gavin Haynes is a Strathmore University professor and the second husband of serial killer and professional criminal Nicole Wallace.

History[]

Wallace, under the alias of "Elizabeth Hitchens", seduced and married Haynes for her American citizenship to prevent her prosecution. (CI: "Zoonotic")

When Wallace got revenge on Robert Goren by killing Connie Matson and Daniel Croydon, she appeared to taunt Goren for pressing too hard in the case, which she setup up to ruin his career, while also introducing her to Haynes. Goren later tried to convince Haynes at his office to divorce Wallace and save himself by what damage she could cause to him, but he was successfully manipulated to believe Goren harassed Croydon into committing suicide. When Wallace's identity was revealed and she was arrested for bribery, fraud, and murder, Haynes funded her defense at the trial, which led to her successful acquittal of all charges. Because Wallace was infertile and "didn't see the point" of fertility treatments, the marriage collapse and she and Haynes divorced with a nondisclosure agreement regarding the terms. When Wallace found out Haynes violated the agreement by talking to Major Case, she sent her new accomplice, Ella Miyazaki, to steal Haynes' inhaler, where she planned to break the systems of an elevator he was about to ride so he'd suffocate from asthma and hypoventilation from claustrophobia. The detectives saved Haynes in time, where he was horrified to hear the truth. This was his final appearance. (CI: "Great Barrier")
