George Burton is a socialite and the widower of Romanian immigrant Irina Burton. Ava Parulis, Irina's previously promiscuous, lavishly-living twin sister, stole Irina's identity for three years after she was murdered. Ava would steal money and jewelry to pay for their sister Oksana Parulis' release from a prostitution ring run by Razvan Toscu and Valentina Bilescu.
George's daughter with Irina, Julia Burton, would always be at the ring's headquarters while Oksana and Ava were raped as part of the debt. Julia led to the ring, which proved Toscu killed Irina, leading to his arrest.
George was devastated to hear Irina died and sickened by Ava's lies, but he laid Irina to rest and testified to his wife's murder to secure a conviction. (SVU: "Parasites")
