Geraldine Richter is the dean of students at Hanford University. Richter was closely affiliated with socialite Joe Templeton, Sr. a socialite who was a major patron to the university. Richter constantly heard reports of Sr.'s son, Joe Templeton, Jr., raping female college students on the university campus.
When Mandy Schumacher reported being raped to the evaluative committee at the university, with the numerous other women who were raped testifying for her, Jr. was pathetically reprimanded with only his father and his frat brother Hank Ludlow as witnesses in his defense.
Richter suggested the same protocol for Kelly D'Leah when she was raped by Jr. When Sr.'s influence over the university was revealed, Kelly was encouraged by police to press criminal charges. Jr. and D'Leah's other rapist, Wally Parker, were acquitted at the trial. but Richter expelled both students to save the university's reputation and finally support the students. (SVU: "Consent")
